While in Las Vegas we had talked with the RV manufacturer and they told us they would be able to overnight the new wiper arms to us as soon as the service center contacted them with an estimate.
Lots easier said than done. I contacted both the authorized service centers in town to schedule an appointment. The first one asked if we bought the coach from them. When I told them we had not they said they wouldn’t do the warranty work for us. I objected and was told that even if they would do the work the soonest we could get in would be in 3 to 4 weeks.
Called the second authorized service center, They didn’t ask if we bought from them but still said first availability was the second week in February. That didn’t work for us as we must be back home by the 17th at the latest.
After some checking I found an authorized service center in Pahrump, about 50 miles from Las Vegas. We called them and they could get us in right away. We headed over. We got in on Tuesday late in the afternoon. This meant they would be able to submit the claim and estimate on Wednesday, Thursday the parts would ship and arrive on Friday.
Someone dropped the ball at the service center or the manufacturer didn’t do what they said they would. In any case late Thursday we went to the shop and they informed us the parts hadn’t shipped. Monday morning I will call the manufacturer and get it straight so we can get the repair done early Wednesday and then begin the trip back home.
The thing is Pahrump is really nice, at least the park we’re in is. It’s probably one of the nicest parks we have ever been in up to now so we weren’t too disappointed we’d have to be here longer than planned. We’re enjoying ourselves.
