Trees of Mystery in the Redwood Forest

Posted by Handsome - January 21, 2015 - Uncategorized

Today we took the car and drove about 20 miles out Hwy 101 Southbound from Crescent City. The Trees of Mystery attraction was our destination. It also gave a little preview of the road we’d be navigating in the motorhome tomorrow. The first few miles are narrow and twisted.

Further down the road are 6% and 7% downgrades with truck speed limits set at 30 mph. Likely because of the sharp turns.

When we arrived at the attraction Wanda was quite excited. Her family had taken a road trip with a camp trailer in 1962 and the Trees of Mystery as well as the beach shown at the end of the video below.

Everywhere we go Wanda seems to really enjoy the statuary. A giant buffalo in Chamberlain, SD, a giant jackalope in Mitchell, SD and Babe the Blue Ox at Trees of Mystery.

We head further south tomorrow. We have no set destination, no plan and no reservations.
